We’ve come a long way since our humble beginnings in 2012. We've grown from a three-day event into a year-long programme that's all about creating incredible opportunities and activities for music enthusiasts as well as supporting the development of emerging creative talent. Last year, we celebrated our 10-year anniversary and took a moment to reflect on our achievements, reassess our priorities, and set our sights on the future.

Now, as we dive into the next chapter of DMC, we're on the lookout for six exceptional individuals who will form our inaugural Advisory Committee. We're looking for a diverse group of candidates from all corners of Scotland to help shape the future of our organisation.

At DMC, our mission is to celebrate, support, and grow the vibrant music industry in Dumfries and Galloway. We want to inspire and educate people, and together, make a lasting impact on the local economy and cultural scene of our beloved town.

Our vision is to create a platform where everyone can freely share their knowledge, ideas, experiences, and thoughts about music. We're all about uniting the local music community, representing Dumfries & Galloway both locally and on the national and international stages.

WHO’S INVOLVED?

Behind the scenes, DMC is fueled by a small but mighty team of dedicated individuals who handle all the nitty-gritty details—planning, strategy, programming, and creative direction. We're fortunate to have a group of passionate Platform Project Coordinators who bring a  fresh perspective, as well as actively contributing to our yearly program. We're also deeply grateful for our collaboration with various local and national partners who make our events a reality and support our initiatives.

WHY JOIN OUR ADVISORY COMMITTEE?

As a member of the Advisory Committee, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Meet with us twice a year to take stock of our activity and give our business plan your stamp of approval

  • Ignite and nurture the music and cultural scene in Dumfries and Galloway

  • Shape the overall strategy of our organisation and help us achieve our ambitious goals

  • Lay the foundation for a brighter future for emerging musicians and creatives

  • Inspire and educate fellow musicians and creatives, especially those in rural areas, by showcasing the limitless possibilities

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We're searching for six enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to complement our existing team and guide our organisation's output for the next two years. We especially encourage applications from candidates aged 14 to 25, who are passionate about making a positive impact on the cultural landscape of Dumfries & Galloway. If you have experience in the music and creative industries or know your way around Scotland's vibrant cultural sector, that's a huge plus! While the positions are unpaid, we’ll provide a financial contribution to cover travel or other incurred expenses.

The Advisory Committee is a public-facing group, we'll proudly list all our members on our website and in our promotional materials, such as press releases.

HOW CAN YOU APPLY?

If you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you! Send us an email, or complete the form below, telling us a bit about yourself and what drives your passion for being part of our team.
