DMC Futures returns—empowering Dumfries & Galloway’s young creatives to make their mark in music and the arts.
Our Futures programme facilitates 8, fully funded, 12-hour, creative development opportunities. We have created our mentorships to offer emerging creatives the opportunity to work with an established industry professional with an aim of gaining support in taking the next step forward in their career progression.
Each mentee will work with an established practitioner to draw on their experience as an individual working in the creative or music industry. The mentor is there to help inspire and inform the future of the mentee by sharing experiences and offering advice and guidance.
Examples of previous DMC Futures mentorships are; Song Writing with BEMZ, Visual Communication with Raissa Pardini, Music Production with ONR, Music Journalism with Gold Flake Paint and Running a Record Label with Phlex Records.
APPLICATION DETAILS
This year, we are asking you to shape the mentorship that works for you.
We want to hear what you need from a mentorship, the questions you need answered, where you need support, who you would like to work with and when? We are opening the applications to anyone aged between 16-25 and was born, raised, works or resides in Dumfries and Galloway. The mentorships will run from December 2024 - April 2025 but when that is, is up to you. This date must be set ahead of December 2024 and agreed with your mentor. The mentorship can take place face to face or online - location dependent. We are welcoming submissions in any format - through the form below, video, audio message etc.
