Talk, Play, Collaborate — ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS NOW!
THE PROJECT
Talk, Play, Collaborate is a project to connect electronic musicians and bedroom producers in conversation and collaboration. We believe that in remote-rural areas electronic artists are often overlooked and faced with creative isolation. In an attempt to bridge the gap, Talk, Play, Collaborate will unite two young creatives from the rural areas of Angus and Dumfries to collaborate on a 12 week music making project. DMC is inviting applications from 16-25 year olds based in the Dumfries area, to connect, chat and create with another young creative from DD8 and the Angus area. Applicant pairings will be asked to dedicate the equivalent of 3 full days of their time to the project, delivering the following to DMC:
A recorded zoom conversation, between the pairing, as an initial discussion on what it means to be a young creative from a remote-rural area.
One piece of creative work involving both applicants.
A lyrical response to the music making process (in writing), a video diary, or photo essay.
Participation in a playback event in February 2025.
Artistes will be paid a flat fee of £432 each for contributing to the work and will have access to DMC's Digital Suite in order to complete the project.
Application deadline: Wednesday 13th November @ 5pm
