GRAVELLE

PLAZA: Gravelle.jpg

An uprising from the D.I.Y. underground music scene, GRAVELLE have come of age. Hypertense, hypnotic, dark and vitriolic, their primitive sound that is strongly bending genres, proposes a great deal of mystery, making them somewhat difficult to define. Taking a rather theatre-driven approach to new music, GRAVELLE’S guitar and synthesizer fight as often collaborate, allowing dark thunderous dance grooves to thus exist. Described by The Herald as “Exquisitely frenetic synth madness.” We can’t wait to welcome them to Dumfries Music Conference and to The Plaza’s unique live environment.

WomenSaid

Another fierce and unique act from the depths of the Glasgow underground appear on Optimo Music with their debut Green Door studios recorded four track EP. Keyboard player Jim McKinven was previously in Altered Images, worked for many years in Martin Rushent's Genetic Studios, was in One Dove and previously appeared on Optimo Music as one half of Organs Of Love. He is however but one component of this transgenerational band. They describe their music far better than we could - "Seedy Electronica, consisting of two Basses, Electronic Drums, Synths and Dark Vocals. Inspired by the avant-garde that influenced the electronic music scene of the late '70s and early '80s.”

Euan Pattie

PLAZA Euan Pattie.jpg

Euan Pattie is a Scottish producer, performer, and researcher of electronic music whose sound incorporates aspects of IDM and house. Influenced by the likes of Four Tet, Floating Points, Denis Sulta, and Jamie xx, Euan produces music that is melodic, emotional, and hypnotic. His creative process centres around the idea that a track has a life of its own – it is the artist’s job to tame and capture this life. With his debut Spotify release, "Friday, 6am", out now and a number of tracks released on SoundCloud, Euan continues to experiment with sound. Outside the studio, Euan is currently developing material for live, semi-improvised DJ sets, often utilising electronic drum technology.
