DRIPFEED: A bite-size video library to educate, inspire and empower!
This month sees the launch of our brand-new digital video library: DRIPFEED. It forms part as part of our ‘music matters’ initiative which provides young people with a dynamic, exciting and innovative learning experience.
Funded by DG Unlimited, as part of their Regional Arts Fund, the short videos will be presented by 30 contemporary music industry practitioners, curating an insightful series of e-learning knowledge. Aiming to inspire and develop independent creative skillsets in young people, the video library will offer top tips on a range of topics and discuss concepts and topic issues within several different fields in the music and creative industries.
We’re delighted to be launching this project and are grateful to have the support of DG Unlimited and Dumfries & Galloway Council. Dumfries & Galloway has an incredibly exciting and vibrant music scene, and we hope that the video library will encourage young people to train, or retrain, within the music and creative industries.
We want to educate and inspire young local music makers and creatives both within the region and beyond and help them to understand complex and often hard to access areas of the music industry.
DRIPFEED launches on Monday 14th June and will be updated with a new video release every week. The videos will feature a broad board of national music industry figures that can offer their best advice within their field. Videos will cover topics such as music photography and videography, DIY shows, staying creative in a rural area, music publishing, song writing tips and the importance of lyrics. The video library is part of DMC’s shift from an annual conference to year-round programming and support activity.
Aimed at young people between the ages of 16-30 years old who are looking for a route of entry into the music industry, the video library will be accessible through the DMC website, and will form a carefully curated online resource that inspires young people who are looking for insight and guidance on a career in the music and creative industry.
