ABOUT: LIAM RUSSELL

LR.jpg

Liam ‘Rusty’ Russell is a creative entrepreneur, producer and songwriter who has spent the past year tucked away in a quiet corner of Galloway, on the banks of the River Urr. A musician shaped by the culture and people of this region, Rusty has been a face on the local creative scene for the past ten years as a performer, event organiser and creative facilitator. Since 2019, he has been a part of the band of brothers that is North Atlas, an alt-rock band based in Glasgow.  The advent of the pandemic meant cancelled shows and postponed dates for North Atlas, as was true for most bands as this crisis has evolved. However, adaptability is a trait shared throughout the musical and creative communities and the project has taken leaps and bounds behind closed doors and computer screens.

Looking to the future, Rusty plans to use the pressure and frustrations of the house arrest that has been this pandemic and continue to create art with and for others with Talk/Play/Collaborate marking the start of a new bold adventure into the unknown.
