As part of DMC 2020, we’re delighted to be showcasing a collection of photograph’s from the photo journal ‘16 YEARS - Gigs in Scotland 1974-1990’, compiled by Chris Brickley, as part of a town-wide photo trail in closed pubs and music venues in Dumfries.
Ahead of the launch of the Exhibition Trail, we chat to Chris to find out more about the book, how he went about obtaining the images and what caught his attention when he was researching for this photo journal.

As part of our annual mentorship programme, DMC Futures, Erin Glynn has been working with our Communications & Marketing Manager, Kirstin McEwan, learning more about content, social media and marketing and helping to promote Dumfries Music Conference 2020. Ahead of the conference, Erin has been speaking to some of the music industry experts that will be delivering workshops and speaking on panels at this year’s conference.

16 years - gigs in scotland: book signing
Chris Brickley, author of photo journal ‘16 Years - Gigs in Scotland 1974-1990’ will be joining us for DMC 2020 on Friday 16th October at 3pm for a book signing and to sell copies of his book.

Dumfries Music Conference is proud to present their full programme for their 2020 Conference, featuring distinct DIY themes and a real focus on starting to build as we look to how the music industry begins to recover in a post-COVID world.
DMC 2020: dates announced!
Dumfries Music Conference will return for 2020 with our eighth annual conference, and this year we’re going digital. Set to take place on 15-17 October, our three-day conference will feature film, discussion, workshops, Q&As, live music and exhibition - all hosted on digital platforms.
