It takes real courage to create something entirely of your own devising, in particular when it concerns music. Too many original thoughts and concepts have known to be immediately quashed by outside forces or by seemingly unavoidable obstacles – impeding progress and leaving the big dreams that are created in the mind to stay there as unfulfilled desires. However, this description does not apply to our very own Sandy Sweetman - the co-director of our home-grown music festival, Doonhame Festival.

In Conversation With.. Kasama

For our next ‘In Conversation With..’ series, we caught up with Kirkcudbright based Kasama. Since forming in 2016, the band has enjoyed huge success including a nomination for the Performing Artist of the Year category of the Dumfries & Galloway Life awards in 2018, the release of their debut EP and, most recently, their new single ‘Deep Water’, which was accompanied by a music video shot by Ruari Barber-Fleming.

Like most, or all of us, we find ourselves living amid strange and uncertain times, as the novel coronavirus continues to flourish. Q&A: Tiderays & 'Moving On'

Tiderays are a five-piece folk tinged Indie Rock band from Dumfries who have been together for three years. Melodic rock with a folk tinge, Tiderays are well on the way to fulfilling their potential. Following last year’s The Anchor, Papillon and Parallel single launches, they released their debut album ‘Moving On’ at the end of Janaury.
